Which data we process
This website only collects data you enter into a form yourself. There are five forms.
Contact form
Data
Name, organisation, email address, telephone number, country, subject and message.
Sponsor form
Data
Organisation, contact person, email address, telephone number, country, interest, budget indication and message.
Programme registration form
Data
Programme, name, email address, telephone number, organisation, country and motivation.
Collection request form
Data
Name, e-mail address, phone or WhatsApp, country, city, the requested piece with its size and quantity, and your message.
Newsletter
Data
The email address only.
With every submission we also record which language you were using and which page the submission came from. That helps us handle your question in the right language and at the right part of the group.

The following purpose and legal basis apply per processing activity.
Requests and messages through the contact and sponsor form

We use your data to assess your request, reply to you and, where it leads to cooperation, prepare arrangements.
Programme registrations

We use your data to inform you about the dates, duration and terms of the programme and to arrange your participation.
Newsletter
Legal basis: Consent
We send you updates about the group and Business Model TV. You can withdraw your consent at any time; every newsletter offers a way to do so and you can also let us know by email.
Follow-up of business enquiries
Legal basis: Legitimate interest
We have a legitimate interest in following up a business enquiry and routing it internally to the part of the group that can handle your question.
How long we keep data
We keep your data for as long as needed to handle your request and for a maximum of 24 months thereafter, so that we can retrieve an earlier conversation if you contact us again. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.
Who receives your data
Within the group, your data is only seen by the staff handling your request. In addition we use three kinds of service providers, acting solely on our instructions as processors: the party hosting this website, the party providing the platform database, and the email service that sends the confirmation messages. We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.
Transfers outside the EEA
Afu-Mena Group operates in Suriname, French Guiana and the Netherlands. When your question concerns a part of the group outside the European Economic Area, your message may be read there. Our email service processes the messages in the EU region; the host and the database provider of this platform likewise process the data inside the EEA. For any transfer to parts of the group outside the EEA we make sure it rests on a valid basis under data protection law, such as standard contractual clauses.

In respect of the data we process about you, you have the following rights.
You can submit a request to info@afu-menagroup.com. We respond within one month. To prevent misuse we may ask you to substantiate your request.
If you are not satisfied with the way we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Privacy
Cookies and browser storage
This platform uses no tracking or advertising cookies and loads no analytics or advertising scripts. No cookie banner is therefore needed. What is used:
Local storage in your browser to remember your language choice (Dutch or English).
For the back office of this website a session token, used only by logged-in administrators of the group.
The website's typefaces are loaded through Google Fonts. Your IP address is technically visible to that service; no cookies are set for this purpose.
Security
Data is transmitted in encrypted form between your browser and our servers. Stored submissions are not publicly accessible: only authorised administrators of the group can view them, after signing in and on the basis of an explicitly granted role.
Photography on this website
This website uses photographs from the group's archive. They are community and working scenes: training sessions, villages, markets and cultural gatherings. In some of them people are recognisable; those photographs are published with the consent of the people shown. We do not name anyone in the captions and the alt text describes only the scene. No photograph has a child as its subject; in a few wider community scenes children may appear incidentally in the background. If you would like a photograph in which you or your child is recognisable to be removed, write to info@afu-menagroup.com; we will take it down without asking you to explain your request.
Videos on this website
Videos from our own channel load only after a click, through youtube-nocookie.com. Until that moment no data whatsoever is sent to YouTube or Google: the preview image you see is hosted on our own servers. Once you press play, your browser connects to that service and the terms and privacy policy of YouTube apply from then on.

When this website changes, we update this statement. The date of the most recent change is shown at the top of this page.
