Afiingi, also called apiti or domii, is a tasty broth thickened with small balls of cassava flour. The result is a hearty, warming soup with fish or meat. No traditional Maroon celebration is complete without a pot of afiingi. It is also a familiar home dish, for example for women in the weeks after giving birth, when the family cooks for them. This pack contains the cassava balls, ready to cook in your own broth. So you can make afiingi in Europe just like at home.
Use and preparation
Bring 1000 ml of fish or meat broth to the boil. Add the afiingi balls in small batches and let each batch cook for 1 to 2 minutes. Then return the fish or meat to the soup. Enjoy!
