Fon Fon Pepre is freshly pounded dried pepper with a little salt and natural seasonings. It is made from ordinary Surinamese Madame Jeanette peppers, not chilli. Fon Fon Pepre is known as one of the oldest Maroon inventions, from the time they survived in the tropical rainforest of Suriname. Drying and pounding the peppers made them keep for a long time. Use it with hot and cold dishes, to marinate meat or fish, or with vegetarian meals, sandwiches and salads. A little goes a long way.
